Chris Ashton Kutcher Teen Choice Awards: Frauds & Revelations

At the teen choice awards Ashton Kutcher revealed his first name is Chris and some other gems:
1. “Opportunity looks a lot like hard work.” I think, for the most part, “good luck” is paved by lots of hard work where “opportunity meets preparation.” One of the few things I find to be a pet peeve is when someone says- “that’s not my job”, “that’s not in my job description” or “that’s above my pay grade”- really, now? It’s about taking things on, not because it’s ::your job:: but because this is what needs to get done to advance the initiatives of the team. You, as an individual, taking on ownership of results and, in turn, contributing to the efforts that are needed to cross the finish line. Get off your *ss! I seriously feel that no matter how far I advance or wherever I am in life, if I need to pull up my sleeves and mop the floor, clean a bathroom or whatever the case may be- that is what I will be doing. Wherever I am needed- that is where I will be.

One thing I did disagree on was the don’t quit your job unless you already have a new one- just because it was not true for me. I am the poster child for going against that advice but, funny enough, if I were asked- I would not advise you to quit your job. Things worked out crazily for me- just perfect. I have no idea how I endured resigning, being unemployed and looking like I had everything under control (a cool customer). That was one of the most scariest moments in my life where I just fell into uncertainty and simply hoped for the best. Somehow, I pulled myself together and things happened as they should. I was open to the universe’s possibilities and somehow things fell into place.

2. Being Sexy- “The sexiest thing in the entire world is being really smart. And being thoughtful, and being generous. Everything else is crap, I promise you. It’s just crap that people try to sell to you to make you feel like less. So don’t buy it! Be smart, be thoughtful and be generous.” Being selfless is pretty awesome. Be grateful for what you’ve got, for how you’ve gotten to where you are and to who helped get you there. Do great things that reach further than yourself. Create that ripple in the ocean. Leave a legacy through your good deeds. I don’t know about this sexy business but being good,  positive, smiling, being thoughtful and generous helps attract others to you (the sexy part perhaps?).
3. “Everything around us that we call life was made up of people that are no smarter than you. And you can build your own things, you can build your own life that other people can live in. So build a life — don’t live one, build one.” Take control of your own life. It’s not about breezing by and breathing a sigh of relief once every day is done. Are you that person living for Friday’s? How many weeks have gone by where you wish away FIVE whole days just to get to the last two ones that you really like. If you must search for a better work environment- do it! If you have to look for other living arrangements- do it! If you have to end toxic relationships- do it! It’s not just about deconstructing but about, simultaneously, building the environments that will nurture growth. Focus on building and positives. There are no excuses and no tomorrows. You only have this moment- make it f*cking awesome! Kick some *ss!
